The $60 24-hour paddleboard rental leaves room to work around a meal, a rising breeze or a better tide window later in the day. Twenty-four hours does not mean the board may stay on a public beach or be used after dark. Store it only at the approved private location, protected from traffic, wind, sprinklers and theft, and return it at the coordinated pickup time.

The rental includes the board, paddle, life jacket and leash

Wavy delivers a 10-foot stand-up paddleboard, an adjustable paddle, a life jacket selected for the approved paddler and a board leash for conditions in which leash use is appropriate. At handoff, inspect the deck, rails, fin, paddle connection, leash and life jacket with the Wavy team. Report a concern before transport or launch rather than trying to repair or modify equipment.

Bring drinking water, sun protection, secure footwear for the launch, a waterproof method for essential communication and a dry bag appropriate for the items you choose to carry. Do not tie a passenger, pet, cooler, chair, speaker or towable to the board. The package is designed for one approved paddler and essential lightweight gear only.

Free paddleboard delivery removes the roof-rack problem

Wavy delivers the paddleboard package to an approved St. Simons Island hotel, Airbnb, vacation rental or residence and collects it when the rental ends. Delivery is not permission to carry or launch from every property. Before confirmation, provide the exact address, unit or gate instructions, property contact details and a secure place where the board may be staged without blocking a corridor, stair, accessible route or fire lane.

The renter remains responsible for lawful, safe transport between the handoff point and approved launch unless Wavy confirms a different arrangement. Do not place the board loose on a cart, scooter, moped or ordinary vehicle roof. Never drag it across pavement, shell, dunes or a parking lot. A rental is not a beginner lesson or guided eco-tour

Stand-up paddleboarding looks simple from shore, but balance, self-rescue, wind awareness and turning back against current are real skills. First-time paddlers should not treat open coastal water as a practice pool. The Golden Isles destination guidance points beginners toward calmer marshes and rivers, but even sheltered-looking water can carry current, boat traffic, oysters, changing depth and wind exposure.

Wavy provides equipment orientation and rental-specific rules, not instruction, supervision, navigation or rescue coverage. If you cannot independently mount the board in deep water, paddle on both sides, stop, turn, kneel when needed and return against the expected conditions, choose professional instruction or a guided outing rather than an unguided rental.

Build a launch plan around current conditions—not a social-media pin

East Beach and Gould's Inlet are frequently associated with paddleboarding on St. Simons Island, and the official Golden Isles visitor site identifies both. That does not make either location suitable on every tide or for every paddler. Open-ocean exposure, surf, inlet current, wind direction, crowded swimming areas, wildlife protection and local restrictions can change what is appropriate.

Stay close enough that a safe return remains easy

Begin into the more difficult direction—typically against the wind or current identified in the launch plan—so the return does not demand strength you no longer have. Keep generous distance from swimmers, docks, bridge structures, boats, fishing lines, marsh grass, oyster beds and wildlife. Do not enter a marked swimming zone where vessels are excluded or a navigation channel where larger craft have limited room to maneuver.

Turn back at the first meaningful change in wind, clouds, visibility, temperature, current, surf, fatigue or confidence. Thunder ends the outing immediately. Do not rely on the board or beach shelter as lightning protection; reach a substantial enclosed building or hard-topped enclosed vehicle and remain sheltered for at least 30 minutes after the last thunder.

Rinse, secure and stage the package for pickup

Return with enough time to leave the water before the rental window closes. Carry the board by its handle; do not drag the fin or rails. Remove sand and surface salt with fresh water only when the property permits it, then let equipment drain in a secure shaded area. Do not use solvents, wax, pressure washing, abrasive brushes or household repairs.

Place the board, paddle, life jacket and leash together at the agreed private pickup location. Upload or save return-condition photos when requested and report any impact, lost component, torn gear or rescue event promptly.
